Building of Surgical Disciplines Ward, Frýdek-Místek

A modern building of the surgical disciplines ward has five floors, five operating theatres, ten outpatients' departments and one hundred and seven beds. The heliport has become a serviceable and original dominant feature of the building.

Description:

The aim of construction of the new pavilion was to increase availability, quality and effectiveness of the healthcare provided, through modern and technically advanced medical methods. With regard to the emergency condition, the original building of the 1930s was demolished and a new building with modern equipment was built in it place.

The building is divided into two wings in a rectangular layout with ground plan dimensions of about 30 x 18.6 m, interconnected by means of an arch-shape middle part and has 1 aboveground and 5 basement levels. A heliport is situated on the roof of the surgery pavilion. The bearing structure of the heliport is connected to the bearing structure of the skeleton at the level of the seventh aboveground level. A part of the construction works consisted of connection lines of utility networks, hard surfaces and landscaping. The pavilion is equipped with medical technologies, furniture and movables.
