HOCHTIEF at an international tunnelling conference
HOCHTIEF CZ was a platinum partner of the 13th international conference “Underground Construction Prague 2016”, which took place from 23 to 25 May 2016 in Prague.
It is the largest Czech tunnelling conference that is regularly, each three years held by the Czech Tunnelling Association ITA-AITES. The previous years, in particular Underground Construction Prague 2010 and 2013, confirmed that the Prague conference has thanks to its specialized agenda, venue and also its social aspects a stable position among similar events across Europe. This year, the attendance of foreign professionals was exceptional – in the Clarion Hotel in Vysočany, 550 major experts not only from the European countries but from the whole world met.
Several presentations selected for the main conference agenda were by HOCHTIEF. Andreas Schaab from HOCHTIEF Engineering presented together with Libor Mařík, Project Manager from our Division Traffic Infrastructure, a paper called Design, Construction and Conditions of Application of Unreinforced Concrete Final Lining in Conventionally Driven Tunnels, Stephan Assenmacher from HOCHTIEF Infrastructure presented Logistical Problems of TBM Tunnelling at the Hydropower Plant Gemeinschaftskraftwerk Inn (GKI) and Jan Dinlinger from HOCHTIEF Infrastructure concluded this active participation of the HOCHTIEF group at the conference on Tuesday with his paper Additional Criteria of Contractor Selection in Various Types of Contracts for Large-Scale Tunnel Projects.
Also thanks to these interesting presentations, our company has strengthened its position of a strong partner in the underground construction segments and has showed that to the projects from all around the world we really bring qualification, know-how and experience, to which we have access thanks to our parent company HOCHTIEF AG.
A representative exhibition booth, which provided comfortable facilities to nearly twenty colleagues of ours mainly from Division Traffic Infrastructure, then also served as an ideal place for a number of interesting visits who came to it during the conference.
