Miroslav Vlček – the President of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Jiří Hynek – the President of Association of the Defence Industry of the Czech Republic, Miloš Soukup – the Editor in Chief of the CDIS Review magazine and many other important people were present at the awarding.

The project of reconstruction and completion of the integrated object of the General Staff of the Czech Army has been started in the beginning of 2006. It is one of the largest contracts for the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic in the capital city of Prague. The construction consists of three parts divided into two stages. The first stage is focused on the reconstruction of the Army House Prague, including the construction of the corridor between the seat of the General Staff and the Army House Prague. The second stage concerns the reconstruction of objects of the General Staff of the Czech Army – buildings KC and KD.

Works on the first stage will gradually continue till May of 2007. Construction of the next part started on October 31st,2006 and the deadline for finalization is planned in July 2008.

Buildings of the General Staff have never been considerably reconstructed or modified since they were erected. Due to ethical as well as technical obsolescence of the buildings it is necessary to reconstruct the cabling, air-conditioning, roof and other components of the building in order to meet the present-day standards. The reconstruction will result in energy savings, lower operational costs and ecological operation of the buildings.
