Celebratory handover took place in the presence of the Councilor of the Pardubice Region Marie Málková, Mgr. Karel Peška, Head of Department of Education of the Pardubice Region, School’s Headmaster Ing. Petr Vojtěch, Head of Operation Pardubice from Division Bohemia of joint-stock company HOCHTIEF CZ Ing. Bedřich Ježek as representative of the contractor and many other guests.
Part of the agenda was the cutting of the tape in symbolic commencement of gym´s operation and a brief cultural program. Performance was given by the AEROBIC trio from Letohrad, stage dance group C-DANCE and guests had the opportunity to look at martial arts demonstrations by a group from Ústí nad Orlicí. Peak of the event was the performance by the artistic cyclist Martiny Štěpánkové-Trnkové, three-time world champion, repeated champion of the Czech Republic and holder of six more medals.
Based on the tender assigned by the regional Office of Pardubice Region, which was won by the joint-stock company HOCHTIEF CZ, construction of a gym with built-up area of 965 m2 and enclosure of 8800 m3 commenced last September.
Project was executed for the Automotive Industry Vocational and Professional High School in Ústí nad Orlicí, which provides education in car repair and relating subjects. The school has approximately 600 pupils, for whom the school’s directorate wanted provide own gym and at the same time place for extramural activities of further 150 boarder students.
School building is located in a residential area. After the completion of a concrete skeleton founded on footings and passes and after the completion of the brickwork on the peripheral jacket, building of a large gym 18 x 30 m and height 7,5 and a small gym 6 x 30 m started. Part of the project was the construction a utility premises, tool room, dressing rooms and teacher’s office.
Gym is equipped with newest tools and technology. The connecting neck between the school and the gym holds a modern climbing wall the parameters of which do not greatly differ from natural conditions.
