The building project got underway on August 1st 2005 and today, 24th May 2006, marks the day that it was formally handed over to its new owner. The construction, which did not have a general contractor, was divided into four phases - each having its own subcontractor.
HOCHTIEF VSB, respectively Divisions 1 and 8, prepared the site, were responsible for all relocating duties, put utility lines in place, and laid the foundations on drilled posts. They also provided the prefabricated skeleton of reinforced concrete, steel structures, under-floor screed and reinforced fibre concrete floors, surface improvement, cable ducts, roads, common site installations as well as all finishing work and landscaping. The contract is worth proximately CZK 77 million.
The workshop comprises a manufacturing section for making car components. Additionally, there is a logistics centre, which will be used for the receiving of supplies from external sources and warehouses, allowing for them to go directly to the production and product dispatch departments.
In the course of construction, all standard procedures had to be complied with, and great emphasis was put on observing technological methods as well as the quality of work carried out. Strict order had to be kept on the building site. Furthermore, a device for maintaining a moderate temperature in the building was installed in the winter in order for work to be able to continue, which required temperatures of 5°C and above.
