The general contractor of the construction of Finger “C” was the construction company HOCHTIEF VSB a. s. Division 8. The object was built according to the project of the architect’s office Nikodem a Partner. The financial volume of the order amounted to approximately one billion CZK. This is the first stage that will help to increase the capacity of the Ruzyně International Airport to ten million passengers per year from the current six and a half million. Opening of the second terminal will allow separate dispatching of flights to EU countries and dispatching will be performed in a simplified mode. The arrangement of the operation of Finger “C” already respects complies with the conditions of the so-called Schőngen Agreements whereby arriving passengers are separated from departing passengers.
Flights from EU member states will head for terminal North 2 and flights from other countries will head for terminal North 1.

The handover of the object was preceded by a number of technical viewings and operational tests. The investor stressed the final quality of work performed not only in the architectonic and construction part of the building, but also in the technological part where the safety regulations of an international airport needed to be observed.

Finger C was designed as a three storey object with a rectangular ground plan (approx. 222.5m x 35.5m, average height 16m). The ground floor is situated on the flight level. The first and the second floors extend over the ground floor. Finger C is directly connected to the Terminal 2 North. The connecting object is adjoined to Finger C by a ramp situated on the first above ground floor.
