The joint-stock company HOCHTIEF CZ launched works on reconstruction of the Castle Hill in June 2011. History of some buildings dates back to the 15th century, that´s why a large part of the construction works consisted of restoration works and a wide range of specialized crafts. Castle brewery, riding hall, coach house, stall, stables, Piarist dormitory, Church of the St. Cross Discovery, park, the first and the upper courtyard and the front yard of the castle have undergone restoration.

The castle brewery has gone through a great transformation. The engineers built new basement and attic spaces and the basement of the historic brewery now serves as technical facilities for air conditioning, boilers and storage spaces. The attic now provides a unique space for holding social events.

An integral part of the Castle Hill is a large park. An artificial brook basin has been created there and 11,065 new plants have been planted for the completion of its atmosphere. There is a newly built children playground which provides fun for kids of different ages. An attraction is a twenty-five ton structure covered with canvas which provides to families, especially in summer, a pleasant shelter and protects them from sun.

Revitalization of the Castle Hill cost about CZK 412 million and was financed in 85% from the Integrated Operational Programme and in 15% from the state budget.  The castle complex Litomyšl is the National Cultural Heritage Site and since 1999 it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
