Reconstruction of the waste water treatment plant and completion of construction of sewerage in Ústí nad Orlicí

On Tuesday, July 14, 2015 a ceremonial completion of the project “Ústí nad Orlicí – sewerage and WWTP“ was held. A higher quality and more efficient solution of the problem of waste treatment and environmental protection in Ústí nad Orlicí District are achieved thanks to implementation of this project.

 

This project was co-financed by the European Union – the Cohesion Fund and the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic within the Operational Program Environment. The Contractor was the joint venture of the companies SMP CZ, a. s., VCES a. s., HOCHTIEF CZ a. s., and A.B.V. spol. s. r. o. The administrator of the construction was the company D-PLUS PROJEKTOVÁ A INŽENÝRSKÁ a. s.

The main objective of the project “Ústí nad Orlicí – sewerage and WWTP“ was securing quality and quantity of discharged wastewater in order to fulfill the values according to the relevant regulations of the Czech Republic and the Council Directive no. 91/271/EEC on treatment of the urban wastewater and the Council Directive no. 86/278/EEC on support of use of sewerage sludge was fulfilled.

For connection of additional 2,900 inhabitants to the sewerage network ended by the waste water treatment plant 26.527 km of new sewerage networks was constructed with 25 pumping stations, approx. 5.85 km of the existing sewerage networks was reconstructed and intensification of the waste water treatment plant in Ústí nad Orlicí was carried out in order to reduce the amount of the pollution discharged at the selected indicators. The works were performed in the period from July 2012 to May 2014 and then a year long trial operation followed. All these binding parameters have been met by the implementation.

At the ceremonial completion of the project “Ústí nad Orlicí – sewerage and WWTP“ the mayor of the town of Ústí nad Orlicí Mr. Petr Hájek thanked to all those participants in the project. The course of the entire project was positively evaluated from the perspective of the investor TEPVOS by Ing. Václav Knejp Managing Director, on behalf of the administrator of the construction D-Plus RNDr. Ing. Čestmír Kučera, on behalf of the designer AQP Ing. Daniel Kozický and finally on behalf of the joint venture leader SMP CZ Ing. Jan Freudl thanked everyone for their cooperation and expressed a wish that the project will effectively serve all the inhabitants.
