In the presence of the representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Healthcare, Ministry of Environment, State Labour Inspection Office and European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, the General Director of HOCHTIEF VSB Ing. Tomáš Bílek received the award at the Kaiserstein Palace in Prague from the hands of the 1st Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs JUDr. Petr Šimerka and the General Inspector of the State Labour Inspection Office Ing. Jaromír Elbel.

Over the past years, HOCHTIEF VSB has been successful in reducing the number of work related injuries: while in 1998 there were 182 work related injuries, in 2004 only 50 occurred. The most common reason for injuries originated from unforeseen risks or from human failure. The most common causes of injuries were falls, fly-off or impact of material or other load. The positive development in the sphere of safety and health protection at work is given mainly by the consistent prevention on individual workplaces and by quality education of all HOCHTIEF VSB employees.
