HOCHTIEF Construction AG, organization unit

In 2003, an independent company belonging to the HOCHTIEF group was set up in the Czech Republic - HOCHTIEF Construction AG, the organisation unit. It focuses on building projects as well as special infrastructure projects, namely tunnels and bridges. It is active in many areas of Europe and has carried out a number of large and technically demanding projects. Examples of these include sections of the underground railway networks in Athens, Munich or Essen.

As far as motorway constructions go, the company has built such things as the Engelberg-Basistunnel tunnel, dug using a new Austrian tunnelling method, the Königshainer Berge tunnel and a twin railway tunnel, the Sophiaspoortunnel in Rotterdam, some 4,250 metres long.

The establishment of the organisation unit brings about multiple benefits. It makes it possible for specialists in the partner companies of the HOCHTIEF group to work together when preparing bids and carrying out large traffic infrastructure schemes, in addition to constructing tunnels and other traffic projects in the Czech Republic.
