A brief history

HOCHTIEF CZ originated as part of HOCHTIEF VSB’s fifty year history. Adhering to and shaping the best practices of the Czech building industry, the firm is forging ahead to achieve a truly modern concept for living today.

One of the most significant milestones in its past occurred in 1999, when a change in ownership meant the multinational concern HOCHTIEF became VSB a.s. majority shareholder.

Following this, an integration process was put in place and finally brought to a close in 2002. The result was a strong, effective construction company - HOCHTIEF VSB - ready to do business in the European Union. A new vision for the company was announced, furthermore, new management principles were introduced, and the logo and company name changed. In legal terms, the separate status of each division ceased and they became branch plants. VSB’s shares are no longer available on the stock market.

Further changes came in 2006, when the company was renamed again, this time becoming HOCHTIEF CZ. It moved its HQ to a new business centre in Smíchov, Prague. Its various departments were renamed, a numeric system having been dropped in favour of worded titles, simplifying them for business partners. Also, the establishment of two additional sections filled a gap in its portfolio of services for clients.

This was all concluded in 2006, when HOCHTIEF AG, a supranational construction holding company, became the sole owner.
